Majority of horse owners don't think "cloning" will be good for horse industry


           The vast majority of horse owners don't think "cloning" will be good for the industry.  And 29.17 per cent don't think "cloning" is a good idea at all.

           Eighty-eight per cent of horse owners surveyed by LearningAboutHorses.com said cloning won't be good for the horse industry.  Comments ranged from "cloning is unnatural" to "the cloned horse will never be the original horse."

           LearningAboutHorses.com conducts continuous viewer surveys to determine what horse owners think about issues which directly affect the overall industry.

           Arabian Horse World ran a survey asking readers which deceased stallion they would choose to "clone."  No stallion ranked as high among readers as the choice, "cloning is a bad idea" which scored 29.17 per cent.

           Among horse owners, 65.1 per cent say riding the trails is the best place to ride.  And 58 per cent of LearningAboutHorses.com viewers say they use "public lands" for their trail rides.

           Only 11.6 per cent of respondents indicate the "show pen" is the best place to ride, and among those "showing" horses, 31.34 per cent say "politics in judging" is the number one problem, while 26.37 per cent say "abuse to horses" is the number one problem.

            The most preferred way to spend time with horses is "feeding and grooming", while trail riding ranked a close second.
