More than half of all Trail Riders use Public Lands at one time or another More than 58 per cent of horse owners surveyed report they actually use "public lands" for recreational riding. LearningAboutHorses.com conducts a continuing survey on issues that often have a direct affect on how horses are used. You can participate in the survey by visiting www.learningabouthorses.com and finding the survey in the main menu. Of the 42 per cent who do not use public lands, most indicated they are "show riders" only or primarily. Many of the respondents said they had no choice but to use public lands, indicating they were "landlocked" or lived in developments which had no "recreational riding" available. Several of those using public lands for riding commented on the "need to maintain, and if possible, expand" riding availability. |
