Horse Trained Using Online Course Wins!

Can you train a horse “online” and make him competitive enough to perform at world-class levels?   You bet!

Playin Hopscotch, trained using the methods taught in the online course Training Performance Horses, placed 5th in Western Riding and 11th in Hunt Seat Equitation at the American Buckskin Registry Association World Championships.

“The test of training is to see what a horse can do when asked to do it,” said Don Blazer, HorseCoursesOnline instructor.  “And Playin Hopscotch proved he’s learned his lessons well.”  Blazer rode the 6-year-old Buckskin gelding in western riding, a competition that requires the horse to do 7 flying changes of lead while executing a pattern.  “Scotch” was ridden in Hunt Seat Equitation by HorseCoursesOnline instructor Eleanor Richards.  In the Hunt Seat class, Scotch was required to do both rail work in a group and individual pattern work.
