Congratulations to Taylor Hanson, daughter of Cathy
Hanson
, for winning the AQHA Youth World Championship in Trail. Taylor won the event on August 8, 2008 by outscoring 163 other entries.

      Taylor rode her 8-year-old bay gelding, Sure Bet Chip, who also qualified in Western Riding and Peformance Halter Geldings.

      Taylor and Sure Bet Chip were 18th to go in the first round of competition. She scored a 223 1/2 which was good enough to get her into the finals with a "ninth" place ranking. But when it came to the finals, Taylor and Sure Bet Chip made a near perfect run, scoring 233 1/2 from the five judges. The reserve champion scored a 229 and the third place finisher scored a 223.

       Cathy Hanson,
HorseCoursesOnline.com instructor for Showmanship in Hand and Preparation for Competition, purchased Sure Bet Chip as a green horse a little more than 5 years ago.

       Hanson, who was named the
AQHA 2007 Most Valuable Professonal, specializes in Trail competition. In addition to Sure Bet Chip, Hanson also trains Looks Whos Awesome who also qualified for the Youth World in Western Riding.
